To create a good WBS, you must understand both the project and its scope and incorporate the needs and knowledge of the stakeholders.

Work package is a deliveralbe or product at the lowerst level of the WBS.

Approaches to developing WBS:
1) Using guidelines
2) The analogy approach: modeling exising WBS
3) The top-down and bottom-up approaches

Scope Verification:
Scope verification involves formal acceptance of the prjoject scope by the stackholders.
Factors Causing IT Project Problems:
1) lack of user input
2) incomplte requirement and specifications
3) changing requirement and specification
4) lack of executive support

Suggestions for reducing incomplte requirement
1) have a procedure
2) employ technology like prototyping, RAP, usercase , joint application development
3) put all requirement in writing, and with approval
4) create adequate testing
5) emphasize the complte dates
